The Experience

David Allen Hammond: A Day in the Life of a Musician

Experience a day in the life of a professional musician, acclaimed singer-songwriter David Allen Hammond. As David’s personal guest, you’ll share in a special day of music making and creation.

You’ll spend the morning with David at his recording studio in the foothills of New Mexico, watching as he cuts tracks for a new album. Then it’s off to a live, on-air interview at the local radio station. For lunch, you’ll dine at one of the many restaurants in this scenic village nestled in the mountains of New Mexico. After lunch you’ll head back to the studio for more recording and rehearsing, and you’ll end your day attending a live performance by David. Dine in comfort and enjoy the music and fellowship, with a new understanding of what goes into the process of making music.

The itinerary for your experience will be as follows: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., free time, then resume at 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

A transplanted Texan currently living and performing in New York City, David Allen Hammond’s music paints a tapestry as wide as the open desert sky.

Over the course of his 35 years of performing, his songwriting, singing and guitar virtuosity have been featured on stage with Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Joe Ely, Butch Hancock, Kimmie Rhodes, Kelly Willis, Nancy Griffith, Rosie Flores, Jimmie LaFave and many others. As an engineer and producer he has recorded artists of many musical genres in Austin, Texas and New Mexico at Spyderman Studios.

His songwriting credits include collaborations with Jimmie Dale Gilmore (receiving three Grammy nominations), Kevin Welch, Fred Koller, Don McCalister, Tom Littlefield and many others. For a sample of David's work, click here
