We strive to bring you many experiences that are “quintessential New York,” but our efforts wouldn't be complete without including NYC’s legendary downtown nightlife scene. And if there's one person who embodies both the downtown scene as well as the vibrancy of NYC in general, it’s DJ Pony.
Hailing originally from Rome, Italy, Pony has a background that includes studying fashion design at FIT and working as a DJ & dancer on the NYC party circuit. With his natural ear for mixing House, Techno, and Pop, coupled with a broad spectrum of artistic influences, Pony has risen to prominence DJ-ing at A-list venues such the Gansevoort Hotel, The Pierre Hotel, and Norwood Club, among many others. Pony has been featured on several magazine covers and has earned many award nominations, as well as write-ups in New York Magazine's "Best of NY" issue, and in Time Out NY as Critic’s Pick for Nightlife.
For our exclusive experience, Pony's agreed to share his techniques and tricks with you, all in the comfort of your home*. In addition, you'll get to accompany Pony to a gig!
An in-demand DJ who enjoys mentoring as much as he enjoys making the scene, Pony will start by introducing you to the world of nightlife entertainment, providing insights into his own background and how he developed his own unique sound and mixing style. He will then talk with you to get a feel for your own musical tastes, and sit down with you and your pre-selected playlists to create a 30 minute mix that you can practice mixing, using the cutting edge techniques and changes that are known to those in the trade. He will then guide you in recording your mix and uploading it online or burning onto a CD or USB drive.
In addition, you will be invited to accompany Pony to one of his gigs (to be scheduled at both parties convenience and preference) and see what it’s like to be behind the music at an event and watch him as he mixes for a live audience!
We have no doubt you will learn to hear music in ways you never imagined, while also learning the secrets that make NY the “city that never sleeps!”

About The Host:
PETER PONY CLEMENT aka DJ PONY NYC is a fixture in the NYC downtown nightlife and art scene as a DJ and Artist. Born in Italy in 1986, he came to the city at age 17 to study design at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where he was nicknamed “Pony” and quickly became involved in parties, as a DJ, dancer, and promoter. Working alongside nightlife and entertainment legends, he soon became a staple to the city that never sleeps.
Some of his notable achievements in nightlife include being named one of HX Magazine’s “Top 9 people in nightlife under the age of 25 to watch in 2009″, which featured him on the cover at the age of 21. He was also named one of Paper Magazine’s “Beautiful People of 2009″ He was featured on the cover of NEXT Magazine in 2010. His party GEKKO at Gild Hall Hotel was featured in the 2011 annual issue of ”Best of NY” by New York Magazine, and has also been featured in multiple issues of Time Out New York as Critic’s Pick for Nightlife. He also received his sixth nightlife award nomination this year. Drawing from a diverse range of musical and visual art influences, Pony combines a passion for music with a dynamic personality. He currently lives and works in Manhattan." |
