Sommelier Alessandra Rotondi knows that wine is passion. Having grown up in Italy, where wine plays an integral role in daily life, Alessandra sees wine as much more than just something to drink. She understands that wine is a tool of seduction, a way to define and enhance our social relationships.

If you’d like to experience wine in a new and exciting way, we invite you to join Alessandra for a very special evening of Wine Seduction. Yes, you’ll learn all the basics of wine tasting from a top sommelier, but you’ll also discover how wine can be used to enlarge your social circle, build business relationships, and spark friendship, romance, sensuality and passion.

Your wine journey with Alessandra will take place at a specially chosen restaurant in NYC. You’ll savor four glasses of wine - sparkling, white, red and dessert - and Alessandra will show you how to use each wine to create a special atmosphere. Like a courtship, timing is everything and you’ll learn why a sparkling wine is a good way to break the ice with someone, and how white and red wines lead progressively towards intimacy. Your wine tasting will be paired with delicious light accompaniments.

• Carpaccio di Manzo con Finocchio e Pecorino. Beef Carpaccio Tenderloin, Celery Root, Arugula, Pecorino Crostini. Paired with Franciacorta Brut DOCG, N.V. by Montenisa Marchesi Antinori (Sparkling).

• Pizza Pere e Gorgonzola. Gorgonzola, Pear and Truffle Oil Pizza. Paired with Lugana Maiolo DOC 2011, by Provenza (White).

• Ravioli di Brasato. Homemade Ravioli stuffed with Braised Short Rib. Paired with Torcicoda Primitivo Salento IGT, 2009 by Tormaresca Marchesi Antinori (Red).

• Torta di Ricotta con Salsa al Limone. Ricotta Cheesecake. Paired with Vinsanto DOC 2007, by Castello di Querceto (sweet).

About the Host

Alessandra Rotondi is a sommelier and multifaceted wine professional. She is the Executive Wine Consultant for the international Serafina Restaurant Group, and manages extensive wine lists for many top NYC restaurants. In 2008, Alessandra served as Ivana Trump’s wine consultant for her wedding in Palm Beach. Born in Rome, with family roots in Chianti country in Tuscany, Alessandra is in love with the power and passion of wine. In addition to her responsibilities as a sommellier, Alessandra is a writer for many Italian magazines specializing in food and wine, and is a correspondent for an Italian Radio Network. She has been featured on American television, most recently on NBC and on the Fox News Network.
